I should say right off the top, that while I write this blog post, I am listening to First Wave on SiriusXM. It’s something I do pretty much every day whether at home or in the car.
But today is different. You see, the back to back Ministry and Morrissey on this particular Sunday are a sort of warm up act for something big.
And I mean big like the big hair of the 80’s!
Tonight The National Geographic Channel goes back into its archive of video (on big clunky VHS cassettes no doubt) to chronicle “the decade that made us” — the 80’s. Or as I like to call it ‘my generation.’
NatGeo’s three night/six part documentary journey into the past promises to showcase everything that defined the 80’s. From The A Team to AIDS, from Madonna to Michael Jackson and from Run DMC to the Rubik’s Cube. Plus, a whole lot more that didn’t necessarily work with my transparent use of alliteration.
Suffice to say, I will be watching (or at least making sure to capture it on the DVR).
Whether you watch or not, you’ve probably got an opinion on the 80’s. So please take the poll below.
